Patelofemoral Joint Replacement

Patelofemoral joint replacement is an uncommon type of knee replacement where only the back of the patella (knee cap) and front of the femur (thigh bone) are replaced leaving the rest of the knee untouched. It is only suitable for patients where the arthritis is confined to this part of the knee and doesn’t affect other parts. Dr MacKenzie performs robotic assisted Patelofemoral joint replacement at Lingard Hospital.
